Corona Virus Clarification

As reported on a Sow Seeds e mail I received just now

Michael Gove MP, UK Minister for the Cabinet Office, stated this morning on the television that going to and tending your allotment was considered exercise and therefore allowable under the more stringent rules for slowing the spread of the coronavirus

Please continue to keep at least 2 metres away from other people – more is better! Remember the virus can be spread by contact from surfaces so if you touch something like a gate, padlock or tool touched by someone else, wash your hands with soap and water (even if cold) or use a proper hand sanitiser”

I hope this helps to clarify the situation a little

Keep well

Dave

Temporary Closure of Lanes on the Site

The significant volume of rain that has fallen over the last few months has meant that some of the lanes on site have been eroded by vehicles and are in danger of further damage The lane in the south east corner of the site (towards the railway line) has been temporarily closed to vehicles to protect it from making the damage worse Other lanes may also need to be closed if they are damaged or to prevent further damage

I apologise for any inconvenience caused I know the closure of lanes is frustrating and can make access more difficult, but it is a necessary, short-term measure.

Please respect the closure of lanes on site and do not open lanes that have been closed (even temporarily) without consulting the Secretary Please consider what you are doing and avoid doing anything that will damage the lanes on the site

The Association will need to repair and maintain the lanes on site and there is a shortage of volunteers for this work – the council will not do the work and the lanes will not miraculously repair themselves !!!!

If you would like to volunteer to help to repair the lanes, please contact the Secretary so that the work can be co-ordinated and done to an agreed standard. Repairs and filling of pot-holes is one of the things that volunteers may do on a working party, please come along to our working parties to help to maintain our site

If you have any comments or questions, please contact me by e mail or text or phone me
